What is ALCAR?

Acetyl-L-Carnitine aka ALCAR for short, is a naturally occurring amino acid in the body that crosses the blood brain barrier, reaching maximum concentration in plasma after roughly 3 hours. It’s essential for the proper functioning of mitochondria and, although naturally produced by your body, is sometimes used faster than it’s produced.
